Joint-chamber/ networking event on 24th March 2023

On 24 March 2023, SAM joined the first joint-chamber/ networking event of 2023, held at Htee Cafe & Bar and mainly organized by the British Chamber of Commerce Myanmar and together with AMCHAM Myanmar, CCI France Myanmar, EuroCham Myanmar, India Myanmar Chamber of Commerce, Japanese Chamber of Commerce Myanmar, and Thai Business Association of Myanmar.
 
At the event, SAM members and friends from the other chambers in Myanmar enjoyed an evening of networking and business mingling to expand their business network.
 
SAM is always looking for new ways to connect our members with people doing amazing things in business and beyond.

Joint Chambers Sports Tournaments on 5th March 2023

On 5 March 2023, SAM, the Myanmar Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MHKCCI), Thai Business Association Myanmar (TBAM), Malaysian Business Chamber (MMBC), and Association of Indonesia Myanmar (AIM) co-organised the exciting and fun-filled Joint Chambers Sports Tournament, sponsored by AIA.
Chamber members and their family members as well as the colleauges participated in several exciting sport events, including Badminton, Tennis, Table Tennis, Zumba, and Swimming.
 
We are very glad that this event created memorable and refreshing moments to our members and friends.

Exclusive Lunar New Year Networking Reception Dinner 2023

With the aim of celebrating the Rabbit Lunar New Year, together with SAM and the main organizer of the event, the Myanmar Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MHKCCI) and our associate chambers, Thai Business Association Myanmar (TBAM), and Malaysian Business Chamber (MMBC), joined and supported the event the exclusive Lunar New Year Networking Reception Dinner at Awei Metta Hotel on 4 February 2023.
A total of 160 attendees, including the honorable ambassadors, our SAM members and other participants from the business community in Myanmar, attended the event. During the event, we enjoyed the fantastic Chinese Traditional Lion Dance, participated in the exciting lucky draw program and, most importantly, formed new connections and shared updates with friends.
With our SAM commitment to creating engaging networking events for our members such as this exciting and engaging event, we will bring more and more interesting and impactful business networking activities in the near future.

SAM Children’s Day:”Every Child in Every Heart”

“Every Child Deserves a Smile and Happiness”. This holiday season, SAM organised a fun-day dedicated to children and those young at heart on 10 Dec 2022.
 
SAM brought a carnival and festival to the Myanmar Agape Orphanage compound, which was also attended by children and staff from four other orphanages and Children’s Homes.
 
A total of more than 250 children participated in the festival, which included fun-fair games, bouncy castles, cotton candy, takoyaki and ice cream servers, lunch, art and craft booth and gift-giving.
SAM also provided each child with a gift backpack filled with school stationery, slippers, a water bottle, and an umbrella.
 
SAM Children’s Day was organised for the following charitable organisations:
 
  1. Agape Child Development Centre
  2. Living Children Home
  3. Myanmar Agape Orphanage
  4. Orphanage at St. Francis Convent
  5. Vi Tha Khar (Nunnery Teaching Women School)
 
It gave us great joy and pride to bring love, happiness and care to the children from these 5 orphanages, and seeing the smiles on all their faces was heartwarming.
 
SAM would like to thank our corporate and individual donors for their generous contribution and support. We believe that this kindness would bring positivity into the children’s lives in this Holiday Season!

Essential Relief Food Pack Distribution On 26 November 2022

On 26 Nov, SAM donated and distributed bags of rice, cooking oil and instant noodle packets to the following 4 Orphanages and Childrens Homes in Hmawbi and Hlegu townships.

  1. Myanmar Agape Orphanage – Established in 1996, it is currently looking after the social and educational well-being of 104 children. Upon graduation, the orphanage also helps them to find jobs and some stay on to teach and care for the younger children.
  2. Agape Child Development Center – Established in 1995, it provides accomodation and care for 46 children.
  3. Orphanage at St. Francis Convent – Established in 2009, it is currently looking after 33 children who are in need of a safe and nurturing environment and living conditions.
  4. Living Children Home – Established in 1994, they are currently taking care of 7 children.

Essential Relief Food Pack Distribution On 22 October 2022

On 22 October 2022, Singapore Association of Myanmar (SAM) has again distributed essential and staple food items such as rice, cooking oil and instant noodles to another 3 beneficiary organisations, some of which SAM has been donating every year since 1994.

The 3 beneficiary organisations are:

  1. Education Centre for the Blind
  2. School for the disabled Children
  3. Training School for Young Women

We believe in giving back to community and society and it has always been a heartbeat and backbone of SAM existence in Myanmar.

SAM’s MembersHIP Nite Event

SAM’s MembersHIP Nite Event was held on Friday, 15 July 2022, at LPS Restaurant & Bar. SAM Members and Friends enjoyed a night with canapés, our special SAM Cocktail & drinks and unlocked the night with ‘HIP’ Music, mixology, games and prizes.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we have not had the chance to meet up frequently, so it was indeed a great evening for us to gather, relax and mingle with business leaders, professionals, and entrepreneurs on SAM’s Members HIP Nite.
We will like to thank Her Excellency, Ms Vanessa Chan, Singapore Ambassador to Myanmar, for gracing our event and all participants for their attendance.

SAM’s Pre-Thingyan Gathering Event

SAM’s Pre-Thingyan Gathering Event
 
To welcome the Myanmar New Year, SAM’s Pre-Thingyan Gathering was held on Friday, 1 April 2022, at Lotte Hotel (Pool Side Bar & Restaurant).
 
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we have not had the chance to meet up in a large group setting and SAM’s Pre-Thingyan Gathering allowed SAM members, Singapore Citizens, Singapore PRs and friends who are residing in Myanmar to meet old friends and catch up with them or meet new ones and find more people with similar interests.
 
We would like to thank Her Excellency, Ms Vanessa Chan, Singapore Ambassador to Myanmar, for gracing our event and all participants for your attendance.
