The Singapore Association of Myanmar (SAM) was set up in 1993. Our objectives are to:
- Promote social, recreational, cultural, educational and business-related activities for our members in Myanmar and to promote ties between Singapore and Myanmar.
- Organise and/or participate in social, recreational, charitable and business-related activities for our members in Myanmar.
- Raise funds for our charitable purposes.
- Assist and provide support for our members by providing information regarding local culture and practices.
- Perform any necessary act which the Executive Committee considers to be in the interests of our association to achieve any of the above.
SAM is managed by an Executive Committee (Exco) which is elected during our Annual General Meeting, which is conducted every 1-1.5 years. There are four committees within the Exco:
- Charity
- Business
- Social
- Sports
