Bagan International Friendship Virtual Race 2020

This year, the world was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, which has affected our everyday lives. However, instead of sitting around and waiting for the pandemic to be over, we should continue to encourage and promote a healthy lifestyles. We should also not forget all the beautiful sites and scenery around us in Myanmar, the Mekong region and around Asia. Although the new normal advises that we should not run in big groups, virtual runs can serve as an alternative which will allow us, our families and friends to continue staying healthy, both physically and mentally.

Following the success in organising the Bagan Run on 15 December 2019, The RVi Group will be organising the Bagan International Friendship Virtual Race 2020, supported by the Singapore Association of Myanmar (SAM) and Republic Polytechnic. This virtual race is not limited by any physical location or boundary, and thus, takes running to the next level.

This race will be organised under 3 categories (5.5 km, 7.0 km and 30 km), in both Men and Women categories:

  • 5.5 KM represents 55 Years of Diplomatic Relations between Myanmar and Singapore
  • 7.0 KM represents 70 Years of Diplomatic Relations between Myanmar and China
  • 30 KM represents 30 Years of Diplomatic Relations between Singapore and China

Participants will be required to submit their individual entries (i.e. a video clip of their run/s) to the organiser via social media from 1 November 2020 to 21 November 2020, to qualify for the completion medals and T-shirts. Based on the entries submitted, the judges would then select a number of the better runners from each category for the final race which will be telecast live on 29 November 2020. The top 3 runners from each category would also be rewarded with attractive prizes. For recreation runners, they will also be able to clock their runs at their own leisure.
