Gong Xi Fa Cai!
The Chinese Lunar New Year is on 12 Feb 2021. LOHEI or Prosperity Tossing is a tradition where the Chinese in Malaysia and Singapore will gather to toss the ‘Yusheng’ salad which is considered a symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigour.
Today, the tradition of LOHEI or Prosperity Tossing extends beyond the Chinese and is now a joyous occasion celebrated by all!
In 2021, many Singaporeans will be in Myanmar to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year due to the travel restrictions. SAM has been deliberating if we should continue the tradition of organizing a LOHEI event. After considering the current situation and the health safety of everyone, we have decided to organize a Virtual LOHEI on 6th February 2021 where you can still celebrate this joyous occasion together to welcome the prosperity and abundance in the comfort of your own home.
